When I first started this challenge, I had no idea how much time it would take. I had to write blog posts for one of my classes last term, but they were only supposed to be around 400 words so I could write them pretty quickly. I thought these challenge posts would be the same, but then I chose topics I cared a lot about and of course I had more to say!
I may have gotten a few days behind on multiple occasions, but I finished the challenge, and I’m proud of that. I discovered some other blogs I really like that also participated in the challenge (you can find the full list of people who survived the challenge here). This challenge got me more active on my blog and gave me some ideas for things to write about as my medical updates become fewer and farther between. Even though the challenge is over, if there’s a topic you think I should write about, please let me know! Over the past month, my posts allowed me to reflect on a lot of things that are meaningful to me, which is always important because you never know when someone or something will disappear. A few weeks ago, I wrote about my kitties, and how important they’ve been in my life. Less than three weeks later, we lost one of them to kidney failure. Thanks to everyone who has been reading, and everyone who suggested topics – you gave me some great but challenging ideas that ended up being some of my favorite posts. Now that the challenge is over, I’ll have a normal update post coming soon! Stay tuned, and enjoy the beautiful weather!

AuthorI’m Karen. I was originally diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in August 2004 when I was 10 years old. When I was working on my college and scholarship application essays two years ago, I wrote about my journey. Although it was a rough few years, it became such an influential part of my life that I can’t, and wouldn’t want to, imagine my life without having had cancer. I called it the worst best thing that ever happened to me. Archives
